World premiere in the hotel industry: Stanglwirt opens SYNCRAFT Reversepowerplant

Going am Wilden Kaiser / Schwaz (Tyrol), October 22, 2025 - A historic moment for the hotel industry and climate protection: The Stanglwirt in Going am Wilden Kaiser is the first hotel in the world to put a SYNCRAFTReversepowerplant into operation - generating climate-positive electricity, heat and green carbon.

With the grand opening of the reverse power plant on 20.10.2025, the Hauser family's traditional and innovative organic and wellness hotel set a new benchmark in sustainable energy supply. Joko Winterscheidt, the project's sponsor, and Tyrol's Governor Anton Mattle were among the guests at the opening.

Using regional wood for climate-positive energy

The Stanglwirt's Reversepowerplant converts regional forest residues or energy wood into renewable energy - with a threefold effect:

550 kW electricity
740 kW heat
400 t/a Green Carbon (Biochar)

Green carbon permanently binds around 30 % of the_CO2 contained in wood and is used in a wide variety of areas.

With tradition to innovation

The Stanglwirt was a pioneer back in 1980 with Europe's first hotel biomass heating plant. With the new Reversepowerplant from SYNCRAFT, the family business is now taking the next step: towards an energy self-sufficient, forward-looking hotel industry that combines climate protection and economic efficiency.
