SYNCRAFT wins the Wood Energy Prize 2023

November 23, 2023

SYNCRAFT wins the Wood Energy Award 2023: As part of the 24th Austrian Biomass Day in Wieselburg, the Wood Energy Award 2023 was presented for the first time on Wednesday, November 8. The motto was "Good heat grows back". Prizes were awarded to the best domestic bioenergy projects from fuel and plant production in three categories: Logs, wood chips and pellets.

A jury of experts was able to choose from around 100 submitted implementations. The SYNCRAFT wood-fired power plant in Ternitz, operated by KWS Ökokraft Ternitz GmbH, wins the Wood Energy Award 2023 in the "Wood chips" category. But that was not the end of the good news. The silver prize also goes to a SYNCRAFT plant, namely the wood-fired power plant in Perg, operated by NAWARO ENERGIE Betrieb GmbH. Both projects were implemented by Büro für Erneuerbare Energie Riebenbauer.

We would like to congratulate our operators and are incredibly proud that our SYNCRAFT plants stand out for their performance: they combine the sustainable use of renewable raw materials,CO2 reduction, year-round reliable energy supply and maximum efficiency. They also generate valuable biochar, which serves as a long-term carbon sink and therefore has a positive impact on the climate.

We would like to thank our customers for the good cooperation and participation and the Austrian Biomass Association for the great organization of the Wood Energy Award 2023.
