TERNITZ / AT
Renewable energy and green coal are also produced in Ternitz
Construction of the CW1200-400 wood-fired power plant in Ternitz at KWS Ökokraft GmbH in Lower Austria began in September 2019. Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the associated short-term construction stop, the schedule was almost completely adhered to thanks to the successful cooperation with the customer, the local companies and the full commitment of our dedicated team. The plant was completed and put into operation in July 2020.

Since commissioning, our Reversepowerplant in Ternitz has supplied 400 kW of electricity and around 600 kW of thermal energy. The electricity produced is fed into the public grid and the heat is supplied to the district heating network all year round. Three drying boxes were planned and implemented for this model, in which the wood chips are pre-dried.
